THE RADISCH'S

The RADISCH's married into the RUBIN family when MORRIS RADISCH married BASCHA-CHAYIE DUBINER/RUBIN.

The SPECTOR's married into the RUBIN family when BECKY SPECTOR married DAVIS-LIBE RUBIN.

Historical records from Kamenets-Litovsk show listings for "RADISHETZ" and "SPEKTOR".

ÜPhotos of the RUBIN's and RADISCH's and also photos of some POMERANTZ's on Jake and Dora Rubin's farm

It took two years to unravel the mystery of how the Pomerantz's are related to the SPECTOR's, the RUBIN's and the RADISCH's (pronounced Raid-ish and also spelled Radish). All these families all came from Kamenets-Litovsk—which was not that large a town. Sibi Shuman (daughter of Frieda Pomerantz) kept insisting (correctly) we are related to the Rubins, Radischs and Spectors. She told of attending weddings in the Rubin and Radisch families, of visiting the Spectors and of spending summers at Jake Rubin's dairy farm in Lebanon,CT. But she could not tell how we were related ... although she believed we were related through CHANA-RAISEL DUBINER-POMERANTZ.

Please see DUBINER information for history of the DUBINER-RUBIN's.

In the course of unraveling the mystery, much information was collected on these other families. It is presented here because the Rubin's, Radisch's, Spectors, Pomerantz's and Safer's clearly played a prominent role in each others lives.

ABRAHAM and ESTHER RADISCH (Morris's parents) are buried in the Kamenets-Litovsk section of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, near where David and Rosie Pomerantz are buried. Many of the other Rubin’s and Radisch’s are buried in the Kamenets d’lita section of the Beth David Cemetery in Elmont where Nathan and Pauline Pomerantz are also buried.

Abraham Yoel Radisch sold beer in Kamenets. Every Thursday Abe would take his beer wagon to Brest, stay for the weekend, sell his beer and then return. He met Esther in Brest and they married and had all their children prior to coming to the US. ABRAHAM and ESTHER immigrated from Russia in 1905.
